The major things that get and keep a good rapport with a woman in a marriage are:       1/ R-E-S-P-E-C-T (as 'retha said it - 'Aretha Franklin')       2/ Affection (the way women NEED it, and they may not know or say, it certainly is not the way men need it)         Give her this only when she's been showing a VERY high interest in you and your relationship, otherwise you devalue it.         Affection is showing emotional appreciation for somebody's true self.          When she's been showing interest in the relationship and you, when you are just seeing her, or leaving her for the rest of the day or something, just hold her in your arms for 10 seconds, lightly and fondly, and try to see her soul in her eyes, face muscles, and skin. Try to make your standing motion next to her comfortable for her. Let go before she does, with one last appreciative look into her soul, walk away for your business. It's a completely unselfish act, showing appreciation. the goal is to appreciate, connect, not to kiss and to be cool and walk away because you didn't NEED anything from the encounter.           3/ Romance (it an unselfish way of saying that you are thinking of HER - even when you and I know you have lots of other things to think about that are good for the relationship. Most women don't see what men are thinking about for the relationship as important. They just don't understand, is all.)        The key to romance is a surprise every week to a month.             a/ Free events.             b/ Little gifts based on one of her likes, examples: $1.30 cat shaped charm bracelets, special paper for writing letters, a note under something she is for sure to pickup while you're gone.              NEVER take credit for this stuff.  Just act cool, and kind of shrug like, well of course this stuff happens around me. Don't move to her, she has to move towards you if there's going to be a hug when she gets it.              Just smile and go about your business if you give a gift, after 3-5 seconds of mutual smiles, no more.             c/ Give up a normal activity that you have, without saying a word ahead of time. Just pick one she knows that you do. Plan some time to go for a walk, take her shopping, make a dinner for the both of you, bring home a video she will like. Don't talk about giving up the time. Again, if she gives you credit verbally, out loud, just shrug, or say, 'of course," or, "you're important to me', and move on in the conversation.        4/ Sex Don't even think of sex if things are not going well, hell, most of the time, and it's just better overall if you do those things above and let her decide when sex will be. After all, she's going to decide anyway, right? I prefer my women to walk up to me and rub my shoulders, chest, look me in the eye with THAT look, instead of thinking I have to make it happen.
