     Citizens of St. Petersburg go swimming in the Baltic.
          British citizens turn on the heat and unpack the thermal underwear.
 


@ 10C (50F) Degrees:
 

     People in St. Petersburg plant gardens.

          Canadian and Australian citizens gather firewood. Americans complain of the early Winter cold snap.
 


@ 5C (40F) Degrees:
 

     St. Petersburg citizens sunbathe.

          Italian citizens shiver uncontrollably.
 

 

@ 0C (32F) Degrees:
 

     Distilled water freezes.
          The Neva only gets thicker and flows a little slower. Boat rentals wonder where the tourists went.

 

 

@ -2C (30F) Degrees:
 

     Citizens of St. Petersburg drive with the windows down.

          Italian, English and American cars won't start.
 


@ -5C (22F) Degrees:

 

     People in St. Petersburg throw on a flannel shirt to run errands. Young women begin  to wear skirts down to knee level to fend off the cold.
          Vladisvostok citizens don coats, thermal underwear, gloves, and woolly hats.

     Citizens of St. Petersburg have the last beer at the outdoor cafe before it gets cold.

          Landlords in New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago finally turn on the heat.
 


@ -12C (10F) Degrees:
 

     People in St. Petersburg complain about the early Fall and the chill in the air.

          Citizens of Helsinki are treated for frost bite.
 


@ -18C (0F) Degrees:
 

     People in St. Petersburg start to get out their winter coats and boots. Some of the young men are seen to button their jackets.

          All Alaskan citizens move away to Mexico.

     Military units in St. Petersburg postpone "Winter Tactical" training until it gets cold enough.

          Polar bears begin to evacuate the Arctic.
